Did you know that 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and 9 Australians die every day from this disease? It could be your mum, sister, bestie, lover or maybe you.
My grandmother passed away from metastic cancer after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer many years before. A year later my mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, she was fortunate enough to participate in a cancer trial during her chemotherapy and then had ongoing radiation. Thankfully due to the advancing research and treatments available Mum is still here.
For Breast Cancer awareness month I've decided to cut and donate my hair and raise funds for world-class breast cancer research to help National Breast Cancer Foundation towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.
Every donation, big or small, will go towards the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to contribute to reducing breast cancer related deaths.
After the chop, my long locks will be donated to make wigs for people who've lost their hair from cancer, alopecia or other medical conditions.
