HER FIGHT IS MY FIGHT.

In light of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this year, I will be colouring my hair pink to honour my mother’s strength and celebrate 19 years of her being cancer-free. My goal is to raise $5,000 by the end of October for The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). 

In 2003 my mother was diagnosed with Stage IIB Breast Cancer. This revealed a 30mm invasive ductal carcinoma, 2/12 lymph nodes at the age of 40. All of which occurred whilst being a single mother to me, her 5-year-old daughter. After experiencing a strenuous journey undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, my mother was able to make a full recovery and return to raising me into the woman I am today. I am forever thankful to my mother’s amazing surgeon Dr David Butterfield who basically gave my mother a second chance to do this thing called ‘life’ with me. Without her, I’d be lost. HER FIGHT IS MY FIGHT.
