I'm now a Pink Hero

Every day in Australia 58 people are diagnosed with breast cancer, and sadly 9 lose their lives to it.
In September last year, my Mum Bronwyn became one of those diagnosed and our families world was rocked. For months we watched her show tremendous strength and bravery as she battled this awful disease, receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment, and eventually a double mastectomy. THANKFULLY today she is cancer free and living her life to the full with big plans for the future, and not taking a moment for granted. Mum took every challenge thrown her way in her stride, and I’m so incredibly proud of her! ??
I have decided to step up and take on a challenge of my own to raise funds for world-class breast cancer research to help National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer. For the month of August I’ll be chucking on the sneakers and loading up the baby carrier and pram with kids ? with the aim to walk at least 5.8 kms per day as a nod to 58 people diagnosed daily, and everyone who’s lives have been impacted in some way by this horrible thing.
I’m grateful for all the support I can get in my pledge to save lives and make a difference.
So if you are able to spare a few bucks, big or small, it will get me closer to reaching my goal, egg me on and would be appreciated so much! ?

One week of the challenge down today and a quarter of my distance goal achieved!! This morning I raced the kids and the sun waking, and strolled by myself with the stars.

The whole crew joined me this afternoon for a lovely walk around home sweet home. Even managed to drag Dad along as chief pram pusher, win!

Friday 1st Aug
An excellent start to the challenge today, the sun was shining and two of my little sidekicks and I enjoyed a stroll around the old stomping ground of Railton. Surprisingly there wasn’t a meltdown, or even tear in sight from either child. Tatey was kind enough to do his huge explosive poo before we took off on the walk not during, Mum opened and handed out snacks for a fair chunk of the journey, a lot of roadkill was pointed out and a few interesting questions were asked (by Addie) and answered by me to the best of my ability haha #mumlife. Amongst all of this, I did manage to find the time to have a good think about just how lucky I am. Lucky to be healthy and able to take part in this challenge, and to do my bit in raising awareness and supporting the brave people who are going through/have been through the hardships of cancer. Thankyou so much to those who have supported me and donated to the cause already!
