I'm now a Pink Hero
Hey! Thank you for visiting the Harden's fundraising page
Back again for 2025.
This year I will be running three marathons for National Breast Cancer Foundation, starting with Hobart in April. This will be the 13th consecutive year where I complete a marathon, with the aim of continuing this long into the future! As some of you know, we are 100% committed to beating Breast Cancer. Sadly, our Mum passed away from Breast Cancer in November 2007 after fighting a long battle with the illness for 10 years. The strength our Mum showed to stay with us for so many years meant that we had such a great upbringing and we will always be inspired by her courage, strength and determination.
Our Mum made the most of every day she had and was always enjoying herself. This is what she will always be remembered for and the way we try to live our lives. My brother and I take on these challenges to try and do what Mum would have wanted us to do, and that would not have been to be knocked back by the sad times but to get back up, brush ourselves down and realize there are people who are still suffering that we can help.
Once again this year I will be running for National Breast Cancer Foundation, a superb charity that has supported us and many other campaigners through our journeys so far. Just showing the work that the Breast Cancer charities have done, forty years ago only 50% of women survived 5 years after being diagnosed. This percentage now stands at 85%..
However the work is not done, Breast Cancer is still the most common type of cancer and is taking the lives of around 12,000 women each year. We as a family thank you for your support so far, but we hope you agree that the fight is still on and that 12,000 lives is 12,000 too many.
The Hardens will not stop until we beat Breast Cancer and we
hope you continue to be part of our journey. Thanks again for all of the
support towards our cause, it means a lot!
Mate, an amazing cause, and one to be super proud of both your physical and fund-raising efforts. Keep it up mate.
