We're hosting an event because we want a world where there are ZERO deaths from breast cancer. We believe every death from breast cancer is one too many. To achieve this, We're raising funds for more research. All donations made to this page will help do exactly that. 

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading national body funding game-changing breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public.

We really believe research is the best way to prevent deaths, and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. NBCF is working towards one goal: zero deaths from breast cancer. Together we can help them get there.

Thursday 9th Mar
So on November  2022, our world was again given a good shake. Mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer, in her left breast, which had already spread to her lungs. Within 2 weeks of diagnosis, she had mastectomy, removing her left breast and lymph nodes. She then had another operation as it had become infected, to clean it out. Mum being mum, doesn't like to do things by halves, so on the 21st of December 2022, she added a stroke to her health problems! Mum is currently undergoing Chemotherapy once a week and we are yet to know how successful it has been. She is doing well considering all that she has been through, with some bad days mixed in with the good days.
Mum is 74 and had never had her breasts checked. Her lump was found due to have a liver scan. So, to support mum and raise awareness of the importance of having regular breast checks.  I'm raising money to support this wonderful charity. My plan was to shave my head in support of mum, but she has asked that I don't, so instead I'm hosting a morning tea at work and asking my wonderful friends and family to donate to this cause. Every small bit helps !!
