I'm now a Zero Hero
2020 has started in a fairly ordinary (aka disastrous) way and it has been easy to get swept up in the negativity and unfairness of it all. But I’m done with the wallowing and I’m ready to change up the tone. Last year I walked the Canberra Centenary Trail and raised an amazing amount of money for breast cancer research. This year I planned to do a new walking challenge and although I’m well on my way into that journey (to walk 3000km this year which equates to 1km to honour every breast cancer death in Australia in 2020) I have decided to truly challenge myself and shave my head instead. As such I’m calling on your generosity to raise enough money to make it worthwhile!!
I have set my target at $2500 but it’s a sliding scale - I’ll only be going the full shave (a small gauge, not totally bald sorry!) if I pass this target. If I hit $1000 I’ll do a partial shave, if I get to $2000 I’ll go a pixie cut. Anything over $2500 and it’ll be all GONE!
I’ve set the date for the big shave for 26 April and will hold a small gathering to honour it (I promise it will be Corona compliant!!).
I truly want a world where there are ZERO deaths from breast cancer. Although for me the most personally devastating breast cancer death has already occurred this year, I believe every death from breast cancer is one too many. To achieve this, I’m raising funds for more research. All donations made to this page will help do exactly that.

I really believe research is the best way to prevent deaths, and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. NBCF is working towards one goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. Together we can help them get there.
