A little support makes a big difference,

Hi All

I hope this message finds you well.

Throughout the years, I have participated in various charitable efforts, but I have rarely asked for personal contributions. Today, I would like to invite you to support a cause that is close to my heart.

Nadia, my wife has bravely faced three rounds of surgery due to breast cancer and a serious infection. She is scheduled to begin chemotherapy next week, and we are hopeful that her treatment can start soon. Throughout our journey together, including my own transformation of losing over 120 kg in the past 20 months, Nadia has been an unwavering source of support. Her strength during our seven years of family court journey has been remarkable, and it is devastating to see her endure this battle.

I initially set a fundraising goal of $2,000, but I hope to exceed that amount. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. I am also planning to start running soon to get fit to do something a bit more challenging and raise additional funds, with the ultimate goal of securing cold caps for the Nepean Cancer Center. Currently, this facility does not offer this service, which means that many women and children undergoing treatment lose their hair. Cold caps could reduce this risk by up to 50%. However this fundraiser will send all funds raised directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation due to the limited time frame involved.

I apologise for the late update, but I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for all the donations and the incredible support you've shown to Nadia. Last week was a significant one, as she started her chemotherapy, and raising money for this charity provided a much-needed distraction for both of us.

We’ve reached an incredible milestone of $7,000—thank you all for your amazing support!

I didn't want to overwhelm anyone with messages today, but we still haven't finalised our plan for the $8,000 target. To contribute, our little guy will be dyeing part of his ponytail pink in support of this worthy cause.

Thank you once again for your generosity. Is a goal of $10,000 achievable by midnight on Thursday? I would have thought it unlikely, but it’s beginning to seem possible. Regardless of where we end up, this is all for a great cause, and we are immensely grateful for your support.

We just hit $6,000, and I couldn’t be more proud and grateful for everyone who has rallied behind this cause! With the event wrapping up on Thursday at midnight, I promise I won’t keep bombarding you with messages much longer— Then I can slip back into my comfortable introverted mode soon!

This weekend has been amazing as we watched the support grow. I even re did our bedroom and tackled some flat-pack furniture to give Nadia a nicer space to retreat to. Let’s just say the assembly part wasn't super fun, but the end result was worth it! With a view we’ll be spending more movie nights at home than ever.

We’ll continue knocking off some of the challenges in the days ahead, and there’s still plenty of time to get involved. No donation is too small! A heartfelt thank you to everyone—this has truly been a positive experience for us. Remember, 100% of the proceeds go directly to a fantastic cause, and donations over $2 are tax-deductible, so keep those receipts handy (that’s for all our friends in Australia; not sure how it works for our NZ wh?nau!).

A huge, thank you to everyone who helped us zoom past the $5,000 mark!  Now, here’s my best attempt at crafting some fun fundraising goals. We're wide open to any ideas you might have, so don’t be shy about jumping in!

Here are some eye-opening stats: 1 in 7 women will face this challenge, 58 new diagnoses happen every single day, and sadly, 9 people lose their battle each day. So, every little bit helps—whether it’s for your partner, mum, sister, cousin, or your friend.

$6,000: I’ll dye my beard PINK! 
$7,000: The Family will get a breast cancer support tattoo (those over 18).
$8,000: To be decided
$9,000: I'll do the city to surf next year.
$10,000: I’ll forget my age (and sanity) and dive headfirst into an amateur boxing or kickboxing match! ? This will have to wait until Nadia is feeling better and I'll use this as a platform to raise additional funds. And a shoutout to Caroline Walsh, who’s generously offered to dye her hair rainbow coloured if we get to this point. (Though maybe for her sake and mine it'd be better if we just got to $9999.99)

Hoping to keep the momentum going and support this cause together (However this has already exceeded my expectations and a massive thank you to everyone who's gotten involved)! ??

I’m thrilled to share that we’ve reached an incredible milestone of $4,000! Next Thursday night, August and several of his friends will be shaving their heads in solidarity with Nadia Te Hira - Stafford. The outpouring of support has far exceeded my expectations, and we sincerely thank everyone for their generosity.

If we hit $5,000, I’ll continue with my questionable tattoo choices and get one inspired by the pink design below! I’ve already gotten a couple of tattoos as a tribute—one when Nadia was first diagnosed and another of my wedding ring while waiting for her during her first surgery.

Friday 18th Oct

Well, the $3000 milestone came and went in a flash—about a day and a half, to be precise! So, it looks like it's pink mohawk time for me next week! ?

Now, the next target is $4000, and guess what? August has volunteered his head to support his mum! Honestly, he’s rocking a terrible haircut right now, so any donation is basically a community service at this point.

But in all seriousness, Auggie’s a fantastic kid. We were supposed to watch him represent NSW back in July when Nadia Te Hira - Stafford was diagnosed, but he had to go away alone while we stayed back to deal with this and step up and handle things on his own at such a young age. That already Feels like along time ago.

A bunch of Auggie's friends are ready to join him in shaving their heads if we hit that $4000 goal. Huge thanks to everyone who's donated so far!

Now, I'm brainstorming what to do if we hit $5000... ? Any ideas?

I think given we got close to the 2k mark yesterday in donations on the first day of this (and thank you from the bottom of my heart to anyone who donated) if we can get to 3k before Wednesday next week I'll rock a pink Mohawk for a while (which I'll be totally uncomfortable with) but it's for a great cause.

100% of all proceeds go directly to the national breast cancer foundation.

Woke up to this post this morning Jeremy Stafford 

This Breast Cancer journey has me on a roller coaster ride. I have had 3 surgeries, twice to clear the invasive Cancer and once due to an infection from the second surgery. Whilst trying to decide which course of treatment to take Chemo or Radiation. My infection was telling me otherwise, it is coming up to my 8th week since the first surgery with no treatment. I am unable to have any treatment until I have fully healed and I'm sure you can imagine the amount of stress we are going through. Within this time any missed cancer cells could potentially be growing. So far we have sourced 3 Oncologist appointments/opinions, paid for one and transferred to a new Breast Cancer Oncologist who I will meet next week. The whole process has been underwhelming. At this point I cannot tell you what stage my Cancer is due to mixed results. Hopefully we will get some clarity next week ? 

I can tell you the one thing that keeps me grounded is my unconditional love for my Husband and family. Jeremy is fund-raising for a great cause and anyone else going through these hard times. If there is anything you could do right now, please share his post and support our story, our cause.
