Please support Pets in Pink, my Breast Cancer awareness fundraiser..
Did you know that every day 56 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 people in Australia die every day from this disease? I was diagnosed the day before my birthday. My DCIS breast cancer showed no symptoms but was picked up on a routine mammogram along with being HERS 2 Positive. Many individuals, like me, are pet owners and sometimes its a struggle to keep up with pet ownership responsibilities.
The treatment regime, the surgery and the recovery time can each make it a challenge to complete even the most simplest of pet care. Because the significance of a pet ownership to emotional and physical well being is well researched and documented, it is important to draw attention to how the community might best support people with Breast Cancer who are also pet owners.
This month, I'm raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support world-class breast cancer research and help make Zero Deaths from breast cancer a reality.
Breast cancer affects thousands of Australian every year. By supporting Pets in Pink, you'll be helping fund vital research into prevention, early detection, improved treatments and better outcomes for those impacted by breast cancer.
