Waihape Workouts- Burpees for Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer is a disease that has affected the lives of many people. Though in recent years, it has impacted the lives of both my family and friends. In 2018, my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy. To see her go through so much pain, physically, mentally and emotionally was heartbreaking. Even after the toll this disease had taken on my Mum and our family, it was not done!
Earlier this year, Mum was advised by her Oncologist, that the cancer had returned to her chest area and had also spread to her spine. As a result of this, Mum underwent another surgery to have the tumour removed and is now undergoing radiation treatment.
It is so important to me and my family to raise money and awareness for this disease because we understand firsthand how deeply it impacts both the patient and those closest to them. Being able to raise money, to one day be able to eradicate cancer, is truly a worthy cause and one we support whole heartedly here Waihape Workouts!
