Dion's Triple Negative Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser

I'm now a Zero Hero

I will be shaving my hair and beard that I have been growing for nearly two years, to raise awareness to a particular aggressive sub type of breast cancer called TRIPLE NEGATIVE, in which a member of my family is currently fighting her second diagnosis.

Funds raised will go directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, with their aim to have Zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.

NOT ALL BREAST CANCERS ARE THE SAME! Only 15% of breast cancer is TRIPLE NEGATIVE, meaning it lacks the three main hormone receptors which feed most breast cancers.

Younger woman have a higher rate of TRIPLE NEGATIVE many in their 20s and 30s and scientist have no idea why this is so. Early detection also has no guarantee on survival rate due to it's aggressiveness. 

TRIPLE NEGATIVE BC currently has no targeted therapy, meaning there is limited treatment options for people diagnosed, and no medications available after initial treatment to keep it from returning.

TRIPLE NEGATIVE has a higher rate of recurrence to other organs, often to the lungs, liver, brain and bones, within the first 3 years of original diagnosis. This is known as Stage 4 or Metastatic breast cancer and is INCURABLE.

Its basically the Arsehole of breast cancer!
