Hite Journey
The Hite family will be getting active and setting ourselves a challenge to raise money for NBCF and world-class breast cancer research. We will be hiking 18.6km up Mount Kosciuszko Summit Walk.
Our Mum, Joanne Hite was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2007 when she was 33 years old. She was one of the lucky survivors who beat cancer through Chemotherapy, Radiation and Hormone treatment. We are so grateful to have her in our lives and express our endless thanks to the amazing Doctors, Nurses, Researches, family and friends for the support and treatment.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading national body funding game-changing breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public.
We believe research is the best way to prevent deaths, and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated.
We are doing this fundraiser in hope we can give back through changing someone else's life and chance of survival through research.
Click 'Donate' to make a secure online donation. We are appreciative of every donation, big or small. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a tax-deductible receipt via email as soon as you make your donation.
Thank you so much for your support!

Brookie, the Breast Cancer Network of Australia (BCNA) published a report which 'found that a woman will pay around $5,000 in out-of-pocket costs in the first five years from diagnosis [of breast cancer]' Here's a link to that report: https://www.bcna.org.au/media/5609/the-financial-impact-of-breast-cancer.pdf You have now raised $2,100, which represents over 2 years of an average Australian women's out of pocket costs after their diagnosis of breast cancer. You and your sister, by virtue of your fundraising, have alleviated the financial burden from an average Australian woman for over 2 years of out of pocket expenses from their diagnosis of breast cancer. That is 2 years of less stress on families, 2 years of less crying of a distressed and unwell mum, and 2 years of not having to spend family money on breast cancer treatments which, thanks to your efforts, can now otherwise be spent on putting food in lunchboxes or family expenses. As you and I both know, mums are the rock of a family, and you and your sisters' act of kindness will go towards bettering the lives of those with an illness which can break families. You should both be immensely proud. Great job :) Hayden
