A few days after my 36th birthday, I was diagnosed with Triple Positive, Breast Cancer. Sounds fancy, right?
It is been a month of mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies, scans, blood tests (I am a human pin cushion) GP appointments, surgeries, ED visits and an absolute overload of information on how our lives are going to change this year.
I’m unsure how much I will share of what is to come, but I’m hoping that by sharing my news others won’t ignore the signs your body is giving you. It also might explain why I’ll soon be rocking a Sinead O’Connor inspired hairdo.
While being diagnosed with Cancer 2 weeks before Christmas is anything but fair - especially given the size of my boobs ?(Really Santa?!) I do consider myself very lucky. I’m already in treatment and my medical team are incredible. Our support network has overwhelmed us with love, kindness and help. I feel beyond grateful for the people in our lives who have made the worst days bearable.
