Running for Inspiring Women
I am running a half marathon in Copenhagen on September 17th to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer prevention & research.
I have been deeply touched by incredible women in my life who have had their lives changed by a breast cancer diagnosis, to whom early detection and available research made a difference! They are the strongest women and inspire me daily by still living life with the best attitude and to the fullest despite what they are facing. My amazing step-mum Claire is currently fighting breast cancer after being diagnosed thanks to a regular screening, and has just completed radiation. My resilient grandma Janet and best friend Marta have also faced breast cancer and continue their fight against this disease.
I want to challenge myself during this half marathon and run under two hours for these and all other people impacted whose early detection can save their life.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading national body funding game-changing breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the public. I really believe research is the best way to prevent deaths, and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. NBCF is working towards one goal: zero deaths from breast cancer. Together we can help them get there.
