A cuppa tea and a higher target, for Marita

A long time family friend, a loved mother and wife and well known member of the Alice Springs community sadly passed away earlier this month. That day three years ago we held a service for my own mother, and my heart hurt knowing that they would not be able to physically lean into the support of family as they say their own farewells. Over the years Marita suffered many cancers, breast cancer among them. With the generosity of you all, and in memory of Marita, I am raising my target to $1000 by June 8th.
Mum, Marita, I hope that wherever you both are now there are endless cups of perfect tea, and that you are both happy and free of pain. With love

Two PINK to handle!

My gorgeous fellow Gemini, Georgia, has jumped on board and committed to GO PINK in June as well! We are born only a few days apart, and were so looking forward to a combined bday celebration... given the current global crisis that has been put on hold. But breast cancer hasn’t been. So, what a perfect way to celebrate our bday and raise awareness, while remaining appropriately socially distanced!
ps sorry to all the hairdressers who are cringing at the thought of packet dye right now...

Bigger goals for big hearts

Thank you so much to you beautiful people who jumped at the chance to donate. I set my original target at $200 as I know this is possibly the worst time in our lifetime to be asking for money. After this amazing response I have raised my goal to $500. ? You can donate as little as $8, and it all adds up to some big amazing things....

I've made a pledge to GO PINK!

This June, the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is challenging all Australians to make a pledge and GO PINK to raise funds in support of the thousands of women and men whose lives have been - and will be - impacted by breast cancer.

I've made a pledge to WEAR IT, SHAVE IT or COLOUR IT and raise funds for game-changing research into early detection and preventative treatments for breast cancer, which is vital to increasing survival rates.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia. Almost 20,000 women and men will be diagnosed this year. That’s 53 Australians every single day. Since NBCF’s inception in 1994, the five-year survival rate for breast cancer has increased from 76% to 91%. It’s proof that their strategy of investing in world-class research is working. However 8 women still lose their lives from breast cancer each day – mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and friends.

Please donate to my page and you’ll be helping the National Breast Cancer Foundation step closer to their goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.

YOU can make a difference. Let me know if you want to GO PINK with me!
