Kim and Zoe’s Pink Party

Kim’s Story

Arriving in Australia with a young family in 2009 we didn’t expect our big adventure would be navigating a breast cancer journey away from our family and friends. I was diagnosed as part of a general health check and breast screen approaching my 49th birthday. ER+ aggressive BC already spread to lymph nodes meant bilateral mastectomy, auxiliary lymph node removal and 6 mths of chemo. The impact on my 13 year old and 6 year old was devastating and the impact has left an indelible mark on their wellbeing. I eventually got my career back on track as part of the Executive team of a wonderful NFP, joined the boards of organisations I was passionate about, became a Consumer Rep with BCNA and began to enjoy the great land down under. Six years of adjuvant therapy and I began to believe I’d beaten this disease. Sadly progression to the liver occurred and the last two years have been a roller coaster. I’ve benefited from the best in local and international research: Selective Internal Radiation Therapy, Ribociclib and Clinical Trials. Now on chemo. I’m wanting to do all I can to turn BC into just another chronic disease and in the meantime contribute to assisting others. I’ve recently contributed to Cancer Australia’s Statement on Met BC which will ensure all Australians affected by this disease get the best treatment. Having BC has created its own rhythm in our family and part of that is Mothers Day Classic for 8 years now. My daughter also wants to make a difference and it was her idea to organise the fundraiser. Today my son is holding a bake sale at his school. I’m very proud of both of them. Family, friends, brilliant clinicians and purpose have made this journey navigable.

We hit $1000

Congratulations everyone we hit $1000.  Let's keep smashing those donations.  Every dollar counts!

Kim and Zoë’s Pink Party

This year we am hosting a Pink Ribbon Afternoon Tea because we want to make a real difference to Australians affected by breast cancer. All donations made to this page will help do exactly that.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading national body funding game-changing breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public.

We know that research is the best way to prevent deaths, and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. NBCF is working towards one goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. Together we can help them get there.

Click 'Donate' to make a secure online donation and help me reach my goal. Every donation, big or small, will help me get there. Please donate today.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a tax-deductible receipt via email as soon as you make your donation.

Thank you so much for your support!
