My sister Beth had her first treatment two weeks ago. Whilst she managed a smile she wasn’t feeling the best. She hasn’t lost her appetite yet but the dr did say she will probably start losing her hair gradually. Yesterday she had her blood test and showed she has no immune system and that her second chemo will be delayed until 17th May. She was supposed to get her second round of treatment tomorrow but because of her immune system they have to delay it.
She was booked in for a haircut but we had to cancel as she needed to go to the hospital to get her immune booster. The hardest thing with my sister is she’s used to doing things for other people so now we are doing things for her so she can get better.
My sister's hair
I tried to upload an image of my sister's long curly hair that she had done a month ago. Three weeks ago she was told that she has breast cancer. Last week she had to get her hair cut to adjust to her new hairstyle and eventually her hair will be lost. Her first chemo went well and she didn't feel at all sick. Her next one will be on 8th May. Here's good wishes for her.
Australia, get ready, I’m going pink.
From 3-9 June, the National Breast Cancer Foundation is challenging the men and women of Australia to GO PINK in support of the thousands of mothers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, daughters and sons that have been – or will be – affected by breast cancer.
I'm going pink because breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia. It’s a disease we cannot ignore. But together, we can change the outcomes.
While going pink this June, I’m raising money for game-changing breast cancer research. Please donate to my page, you’ll be helping us step closer to our ultimate goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
YOU can make a difference. Let me know if you want to GO PINK with me!
