2022 colour extraordinaire

By Robyn Teet

I'm now a Zero Hero

I've decided to colour my hair because I want a world where there are ZERO deaths from breast cancer. I believe every death from breast cancer is one too many. To achieve this, I’m raising funds for more research. All donations made to this page will help do exactly that.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading national body funding game-changing breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public.

I really believe research is the best way to prevent deaths, and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. NBCF is working towards one goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. Together we can help them get there.

Click 'Donate' to make a secure online donation and help me reach my goal. Every donation, big or small, will help me get there. Please donate today.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a tax-deductible receipt via email as soon as you make your donation.

Thank you so much for your support!

Why I chose to support NBCF

Wednesday 12th Oct
It's safe to say that everyone has their reasons for supporting any number of charities and for me, the NBCF has become a focus for fundraising for me over the last couple of years.

At the age of 31, and with 2 young kids and a loving husband, my best friend was diagnosed with stage 3, multifocal, HER2 positive breast cancer. Since then, I have watched her battle every step of the way through 6 round of chemo, 15 rounds of radiation therapy and 12 rounds of antibody treatment as well as a mastectomy. This fundamentally changed her life and opened all of our eyes to not only this particular type of breast cancer, but also the age that it can impact people. Thankfully, the treatment was successful and whilst she is still not considered in remission, she is making a good recovery and is starting to rebuild her strength and life outside of a hospital. This would be a very different story if the medical treatments were not as well developed and it is for this reason that I support the NBCF here in Australia as well as the equivalent back in the UK. With a target of zero deaths by 2030, the NBCF are fundamental in advancing cancer research in this space and helping thousands to beat the disease.

Thanks again to everyone for supporting this amazing charity through their donations, tasty treats and pink hair. Your support means a lot to me and goes a long way to helping the broader community in beating this battle.

Thanks again

Robyn

mmmmmm tasty treats

Wednesday 12th Oct
This morning saw an epic amount of sugar make it's way to the work crib room to celebrate, raise awareness and wrangle that pesky change out of people's top drawers and pockets all for the NBCF.

After some interesting conversations about how breast cancer impacts people, both male and female, we tucked into an amazing morning tea and even had some pink converts (thanks Dave and Justin).

Thanks again to everyone for supporting this amazing group with our total for 2022 exceeding $1000 so far and donations still coming in.

It's the final countdown

Wednesday 5th Oct
Hi everyone,

It's the last couple of days before my trip to the amazing Honey Boo Hair Studio for Brit to work her magic and we are rapidly approaching the target of $1000. We're at $720 at the moment with $800 needed for the all over super funky do. Let's see what we end up with!

Thanks again to everyone who has donated so far. This is a cause that I am super invested in having watched my best friend battle aggressive breast cancer at the age of 32. Thankfully, she's one of the lucky ones to make it through but continues to have the support of medical professionals and advances in treatment options to keep her healthy and here for her loving husband and 2 adoring kids.

Stay tuned for updates...
