Colour & Hike for a cancer-free future

I'm now a Zero Hero

I’m Quisha and today marks the second anniversary of my mum’s death from breast cancer. Being a mother of four and receiving a positive diagnosis of breast cancer can shatter your whole world. My mum broke down when she shared the bad news as did we. After that conversation the next two years were full of chemotherapy, overwhelming sickness and tiredness, crying, a lot of memory making that never felt like it was enough, and false hope. From 2015, pain was a frustrating presence in my mum’s life and on February 25th 2017, peace finally found her. Breast cancer is a disease that is too common for its own good and with your help I would like to put an end to the many precious lives it steals. Ever since the cancer took away my mum’s life, I have felt this overwhelming calling to join this fight and I am proud to be here now.

I have chosen to support a non-profit organisation The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). They are Australia’s leading national body-funding game-changing breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public. All funds go toward improving how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. NBCF is working towards one goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.

In my first fight against breast cancer, I’ve decided to cut & colour my hair. It has been something I’ve meaning to do in general until I came across someone else’s NBCF fundraiser and knew I had to do it for a reason. I’ve also decided to add a challenge and hike from Morialta Conservation Park to Mount Lofty (15km), something that I’ve always wanted to do and hopefully this will give me the push to complete the entire trail. I want a world where there are ZERO deaths from breast cancer and I will do whatever it takes. To achieve this, I’m raising funds to support and help NBCF’s research on eliminating breast cancer. All donations made to this page will help do exactly that. Please remember that whether it's a $2 donation or a $50 donation, it all counts in the end and will go towards a goal of zero deaths from cancer.

Thank you so much for your support. I appreciate it with my whole heart.

When you donate please add a comment on which colour you would like me to dye my hair: RED OR PURPLE? When my goal has been reached I will tally it up and will dye my hair the colour that has the most votes. I have also planned the hike to commence around 8th of May.

Thank you to my Supporters
