I've made a pledge to GO PINK!

Did you know that every day 57 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer and 9 people lose their lives to this disease?

This June, I have made a pledge to WEAR IT, SHAVE IT or COLOUR IT and raise funds for world-class breast cancer research to help NBCF towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

Please support our GO PINK pledge to save lives and make a difference.

Together, we can stop deaths from breast cancer.

My Updates

The power of mindset

Tuesday 16th Apr
As I reflect on my cancer treatment over the past month, I'm reminded of the immense power of mindset and attitude in shaping our experiences. I've come to realise that it's not just the treatments and medications that will determine my journey, but rather, the outlook I choose to adopt that will truly define my experience.
From the moment of diagnosis, I made a conscious decision to approach this challenge with unwavering positivity and resilience. I refuse to let fear and negativity overshadow my spirit. Instead, I choose to focus on the aspects of my life that bring me joy and fulfillment, whether it's spending time with loved ones, or simply finding moments of gratitude in everyday life.
This mindset shift has been transformative as I navigate the ups and downs of chemotherapy. Rather than viewing it as an ordeal to endure, I see it as a vital step towards regaining my health and vitality. I remind myself daily that each treatment brings me one step closer to remission, and that thought alone fills me with hope and determination.
Of course, there are moments of discomfort and fatigue, but I refuse to let them define my experience. Instead, I find solace in the small victories – the smile of a loved one, the warmth of a comforting embrace, or the beauty of a sunny day. These moments remind me that even in the midst of adversity, there is still beauty and joy to be found.
I've come to realize that my attitude not only impacts my own experience but also influences those around me. By maintaining a positive outlook, I hope I can be a source of inspiration and strength for others facing similar challenges. I'm sharing my experiences here as a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always light to be found.
Throughout this first cycle of chemo, I've learned that while I may not have control over the cancer invading my body, I do have control over how I choose to respond to it. And I choose to respond with courage, resilience, and unwavering positivity. My mindset and attitude will not only shape my experience with chemotherapy but will ultimately determine the outcome of my journey towards healing.
As I continue on this path, I am filled with a sense of empowerment knowing that no matter what lies ahead, I have the strength and resilience to face it head-on. With each passing day, I am reminded of the incredible power of the human spirit and the limitless potential of a positive mindset. And with that knowledge, I move forward with hope, courage, and unwavering determination. ?
