I am taking on the 55 Squat Challenge in support of the 55 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer every day in Australia and raising funds for breast cancer research to help change the stats.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia. Almost 20,000 women and men will be diagnosed this year. That’s 55 Australians every single day. Since NBCF’s inception in 1994, the five-year survival rate for breast cancer has increased from 76% to 91%. It’s proof that their strategy of investing in world-class research is working. However 8 women still lose their lives from breast cancer each day – mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and friends.

Friday 19th Feb I have been given my surgery date for mid March so to get my squats in I started yesterday ........ 55 down with a few more to go. Share

Monday 8th Feb Give me a week and a bit and I’ll be ready to kick off my 55 squats a day for breast cancer research

Friday 29th Jan Hey guys, so it’s 12 sleeps till my last round of chemo and then not long after that (mid February) I’ll be getting squatting.

About me short and sweet version
Wednesday 20th Jan I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014. Had 2 surgeries 6 rounds of chemo and 6 weeks of radiotherapy. Was in remission and at my 5 year mark and 6 years from original diagnosis. Then wham forward to September 2020 as if the year wasn’t in the toilet already with COVID I was diagnosed for a second time with breast cancer so far 1 surgery, tested positive to the BRCA gene and 5 rounds of chemo with 1 to go and then mid to late March more surgery with a double mastectomy. And reconstruction The road to recovery will be long but it’s just temporary with a long life ahead of me.Thank you to my Sponsors
