My name is Lily. I’m 15, and this June, I've made a pledge to Go Pink to raise funds for world-class breast cancer research and help NBCF with their vision of Zero Deaths. I want to do my part to help them get there.
I’ll be wearing a pink ribbon in my hair every single day throughout June in honour of my mum.
My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in late September 2023. I was in grade 7 at the time, and I didn’t realise how much it would change our lives. Since then, she’s gone through a double mastectomy in February 2024, and today, 15 May is actually the day of her 15th surgery. We’re all hoping and praying it will be her last.
This cause is very important to me and my family, so I’m doing this for my mum and for every family that has gone through the same. That’s why any donations big or small will make a big difference in helping support the research needed to save many lives.
