60 Squat Challenge - March 2025

Hello friends and family,

I’ve created this page because I have lost a very special person to cancer and want to honour their memory.

I’m inspired by the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s work and want to help them raise much needed funds for breast cancer research. I want a future where no one has to lose a loved one to breast cancer.

Please help me honour their memory using the ‘Donate’ button.

The more people that know about the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot.

My Updates

Finished

Tuesday 1st Apr
Yesterday was the last day of my challenge. You can still donate if you wish as I’ll keep the page open.

Thank you to those who had, together we raised $890.

Love to all xx

Day 28

Friday 28th Mar
3 days left of this challenge.

I have surprised myself that I have kept going and not given up.

Haven’t reached my goal but that’s ok, am grateful of how much I have raised and that wouldn’t have been capable without the help of you all.

Nearing the end of my challenge

Thursday 27th Mar
Only a few more days to go.

I am so grateful for those who have donated to this worthy cause.

I have to date raised $890.00 in honour of my cousin.

Day 20 to 23

Sunday 23rd Mar
Nearly the end but you can all still donate. My goal was to get to $1000, nearly there. So far I have raised $862. I am blown away by your generosity. Every little bit helps moving forward in finding a cure.

Up to say 23, about to go for a walk and then I will do my squats.  My knees are a little bit tender.  The other day went to take Alfie outside and our garage was open.  Alfie barged through me and would have bolted down the road but I dived to grab him and slammed down hitting the garage floor..   it’s concrete….

So I hadn’t been going as low in my squats these last couple of days, I could have just stopped but  I made a commitment.

Day 19

Wednesday 19th Mar
My tree gained another leaf today and I’m forever grateful for all your kind donations. It has reached $862 so close to my goal.

While waiting for dinner to cook, I did my squats. I had just been for a walk so they weren’t too hard to do ;)

Day 16 to 18

Tuesday 18th Mar
Hadn’t posted but yes I’m still doing the squats everyday.

I won’t lie, last couple of days my knee twinged so I didn’t go as low as I would have liked.  I rather adjust to be comfortable than give up.

Todays squats I manged to go low, yay for me

Still time to donate, would love to reach my goal.
Thank you again to those who have.

Day 15

Sunday 16th Mar
Went with the family for a morning walk with our fur baby.  Came home and put on a  load of washing before sitting down for some breakfast.

After I hung the washing outside, I thought might as well do my squats.   After the 5th attempt, they were done.    Alfie to his amusement, decided he wanted to play and kept on pushing me down.

“Character consists of what you do on the third and fourth tries.”
James A. Michener

Day 14

Friday 14th Mar
What a beautiful morning. Took Alfie for a walk and along the way we bumped into his favourite postman Dan and scored a smacko.  Chilled again before doing my squats for the day.

I thought I might have had to split my squats up through out the day, but surprisingly I managed to do the whole 60. Oh and I am remembering to breathe.  Who would have thought it makes doing the squats a little bit easier.

Day 13

Thursday 13th Mar
A bit of slow start this morning with the should I or should I just go back to sleep.  I decided on the should and got up for a morning walk before work.

Chilled a bit after before doing my squats and jumping in the shower.  Squats today were a bit slower but that doesn’t matter, I finished all 60.

Received more donations today, Thank you

Day 12

Thursday 13th Mar
Wednesday, halfway to the weekend.
I visited Mum for a cuppa before heading to work.
Another busy day, sometimes I wonder why I take leave as I know I have a lot of catching up to do when back at work.

Afternoon walk with the fam and finished off doing my 60 squats.

Donations keep rising, $728, thank you.
Even after the month ends, you can still donate to my page.

Day 11

Tuesday 11th Mar
Back to work today or do I say back to the grind.
Woke up a little tired but I pushed through and I went for a morning walk with my nearly 11 year old ball of fluff.  Before jumping in the shower I did my 60 squats for the day.  I have surprised myself that I have managed to keep them up.

Was a lovely surprise looking at my page with more leaves added to my tree.  Every little bit is helping towards finding a cure.  I’m forever grateful to your generosity. Thank you xx

Day 4

Tuesday 11th Mar
I forgot to post but 60 squats were done

Day 10

Tuesday 11th Mar
I’m back from my trip to Melbourne, came home to unpack and a little breather.  Walked to the local shops to get something to cook for dinner.   Then went for a walk with hubbie and Alfie.  Prepped and cooked dinner, then ended the night before crashing on the couch doing the 60 squats.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

Day 9

Monday 10th Mar
Day 9

Was a beautiful day and still amazed and in awe of the concert the night before.

We caught up with our cousins and had a good chat and laughs over lunch. We continued walking around for the day with a little bit more exploring and ended the day doing my 60 squats. This routine seems to work and they are getting easier to do.  Or could that be because I was still on high from the night before.

— BOB RILEY

Day 8

Sunday 9th Mar
Another big day of exploring.  I won’t lie, didn’t think I had it in me.  Walked over 15000kms again today and I struggled.  Collapsed in chair and said to myself I don’t think I would be able to get back up.

Well a pat on the back to me, I did it.  60 squats for the day done.

Thank you to all who have to date donated, I have raised so far $647.

Went to see Billie Eilish and was on such a high we walked back to the apartment.  Now I going to crash and go to sleep.

Day 7

Friday 7th Mar

Sometimes, all it takes is a little nudge or a spark of inspiration to get us going again.

Explored Melbourne again today with lots of walking. I was struggling a bit today because of yesterday but I pushed through.

60squats completed with my son’s encouragement doing the last 30 with me.

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.

Day 6

Thursday 6th Mar
We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something.

Mother Teresa

Today I walked over 24000 steps and completed doing my 60 squats with my son’s encouragement doing the last 30 with me.

My tree is growing, thank you again to those who have donated. Much appreciated.

Day 5 keep moving

Wednesday 5th Mar
With each step I take, I see that my ability to perform gets a little better. So until it starts getting worse, I'm going to keep moving forward.

Another 60 squats done.  My tree keeps growing, thank you all much appreciated.

Day 3

Monday 3rd Mar
After our walk along the coast I completed day 3 of my 60 squats challenge.

My tree is growing, thank you so much.

2nd of challenge

Sunday 2nd Mar
Finished 2 day of 60 squats, the last 10 were a bit of a struggle but I pushed through.

If only for those who have suffered through the cancer could have had the same outcome to see another day.

Thank you for those who have donated so far. It all helps to try and find a cure to stop it progressing further and one day stop it in its tracks all together.

First 60 Squats done

Saturday 1st Mar
Knees creaked but I pushed through.

My mum passed away because of cancer too.... even though it's a different type but cancer remained the most dangerous diseases to human being, and the most torturing one, to both the patient and his/her families... wish one day we can be worry free and no one suffers from this disease.
