I'm now a Zero Hero

I want to raise as much money as I can to try and find a cure for breast cancer. My grandmother died of breast cancer in the late 1970s, and back then once you were diagnosed with breast cancer, it meant that you had little to no chance of survival. 

Move forward forty years later, two of my friends have suffered with breast cancer. Both needing double mastectomies and one of them a hysterectomy.

Both women are in remission, but it has been a rock road. Their families have suffered with them through worry and the fear of the unknown.

These women are absolute legends. It is unfair to know that even though they are highly accomplished, loving, compassionate, and wonderful human beings, breast cancer has come for them.

So, though your donation, I hope that the contributions will go a long way to make some sort of difference. 

I will shave my head completely and donate my hair my to create a wig for those who lose theirs through the treatment they must undertake.

Hello everyone

How are you all today?

So, on Tuesday the staff, students and P & C all helped to cut all my hair off. The hair has now been sent to a company in NSW to a make a wig for someone who lost theirs due to various treatments.

The rest was all shaved to a number two. Luckily, I had a hip replacement surgery yesterday afternoon, so I haven't really thought about the fact that all my hair is gone. However, it's all gone to a good cause.

Again, I would like to thank everyone who donated, or gave a kind word of support. I feel over the last month, it has given me a real insight in the community we live in, and so many people are willing to band together for a good cause. Thank you for all the support, and I don't know about you, but the total we were all able to achieve is mind blowing!

One Week To Go!

Hi guys

How are you all?

There is only one week to go until the big cut and shave!

So, this week, there is going to be a bake sale every day from the canteen, and all proceeds are going towards my shave next week. I am very grateful for the P & C and Canteen ladies for organising this.

Additionally, there are tickets that will be sold Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this week before school. The lucky people whose names are drawn will be able to cut a lock of my hair off that will go towards making a wig.

Finally, if everyone can spread the link around all social media platforms, that would be amazing.

Again, thank you very much for everyone's support and their donations towards the cause.

Smashed Another Goal!

Good morning everyone,

I woke up this morning with the great news that we've beaten another goal. Together we have made over $2000. Now, I've decided to go all out and up the anti! It might be a little ambitious, but let's all aim for $3500!

I've loved the fact that some of my ex-students have put some money towards the cause as well as some awesome friends that I've not caught up with in years. As always, I appreciate any amount of money given, for me, the thought is what counts the most.

I've being supported by a lot of people, in particular my school community and its P & C. They are going to put in a bake sale where the proceeds will go towards this fundraising effort. Additionally, one of the teachers came up with the great idea of selling raffle tickets for a dollar to have the chance to cut off my locks, that will go towards making a wig for breast cancer patients.

So, there is only 22 days before the big cut/shave, let's keep going strong!

First, I want to thank absolutely everyone who has donated. In less than 24 hours, we've managed to raise the target of $850!!!

So, I've got no alternative, but to up the anti and try for $2000! Let's see how we all go.
