I'm getting rid of the fro guys!
I've thought about shaving my hair for cancer research for around 5 years now, but I've always found a reason to 'put it off'. Having worked at NBCF for almost 1 year, I've have the privilege of speaking to people affected by breast cancer almost every single day. I've heard their stories and I've been so overwhelmed by their strength and determination to support their loved ones or overcome the disease themselves. That's why I've finally decided to commit to the big shave, and raise as much funds as possible for life changing breast cancer research.
I will be donating my hair to Sustainable Salons. All collected ponytails 20cm or longer are distributed to charitable organisations to create wigs for those suffering from cancer or alopecia. Sustainable salons is the largest donor of ponytails in the Southern Hemisphere!
All proceeds raised will go towards the National Breast Cancer Foundation - Australia’s leading national body funding game-changing breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public.
I really believe research is the best way to prevent deaths, and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. NBCF is working towards one goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. Together we can help them get there.
