Earlier this year I was diagnosed with Metastatic breast cancer in the lung, meaning they found a breast cancer on my lung. This was found by chance on MRI images of my breasts in my fifth year following an earlier diagnosis and treatment of DCIS.
My current diagnosis is a category of stage IV cancer.
I have been advised that the type of breast cancer I have is not susceptible to chemo or immunotherapy, so a positive is that I shouldn’t lose my hair. I am therefore pledging to colour my hair PINK!
I am currently on hormone treatment and have had Stereotactic Radiotherapy on my lung. Waiting to see what needs to come next.
My medical oncologist has advised that due to so much research there are many more drug options available now compared to years ago that should assist with my cancer, to hopefully sustain my life for a long time to come. Along with regular monitoring!
On Tuesday, 10th June I will be going pink at Tigerlamb, Bowen Hills.

This June, I've made a pledge to COLOUR IT and raise funds for world-class breast cancer research to help NBCF towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.
