I'm now a Zero Hero
Did you know two people each hour are diagnosed with breast cancer? I didn't. It's actually a little higher - 55 people per day in total - but two per hour is a pretty sobering stat. It's the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia.
A dear friend of mine is currently undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. Two more of my girlfriends have had lumps removed in recent years. All three of these women are/were under 30 at the time. Crazy, huh?
I'm sure there are many of you who can tell me stories of your partners, friends, parents, siblings or co-workers whose lives have been immeasurably impacted by breast cancer. While the survival rate is great, and deaths are decreasing, there's still nine people each day who won't make it.
As you all may know, I'm not often a person to sit around and do nothing when there is an opportunity for me to do more, and god knows I love a challenge.
I've spent the last 12 months growing my hair. At the end of October, I have a hair appointment booked in - and I'll be cutting it short and dyeing what's left pink.
I'm asking for your support, and in return for my upcoming new 'do, I'd love you to donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. They do LIFE-SAVING work. I really believe research is the best way to prevent deaths, and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. NBCF is working towards one goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a tax-deductible receipt via email as soon as you make your donation.

Great action Cat, looking forward to see your pink hair ? Breast cancer is no joke so many people get it these days from younger age. I had one last year went through all treatments and met many younger patients. I am really hopeful for Zero death by 2030.
