Cassie Green

I'm GOING PINK for My Mum ?

Cassie GREEN is going PINK!

Why I am participating in GO PINK:

Did you know that Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer amongst women in Australia? Having my Mum impacted by breast cancer has made me a huge advocate for research and awareness for this great cause.

This June, I've made a pledge to WEAR IT PINK every single day in June and raise funds for world-class research into effective prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer. This much needed research has the potential to save thousands of lives.

Every donation, big or small, will get me closer to reaching my goal and helping the National Breast Cancer Foundation end deaths from breast cancer.

Thank you for your support! I look forward to sharing my WEAR IT PINK journey with you.

Love Cassie xx

My Updates

Day 8

Thursday 8th Jun
Day 8 of GO PINK and my second last day at my current workplace. I decided to use a string of heart lights as an accessory today, which was super fun! :)
I have many more crazy accessories and outfits planned over the next few weeks, so stay tuned for updates!

Day 7 - Biggest Morning Tea x GO PINK!

Wednesday 7th Jun
Today at my work. we had a Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds and awareness for cancer, so I added a touch of yellow to today's pink outfit to support both causes.
Jessica and I reached $4,000 as a team today - a huge effort! I am so grateful to have achieved this amazing fundraising milestone together. We are incredibly thankful for all the support and encouragement that we have received over the course of our GO PINK journey so far and can't wait to continue with the same amount of enthusiasm, passion and excitement as we have for the past 7 days.
Reflecting today on raising $4,000, I was thinking that GO PINK has come at the perfect time in our current situation. Our beautiful Mum has now had 2 doses of chemotherapy and has lost most of her hair. We have seen this as a perfect opportunity to put a smile on her face each day with a pop of pink, whilst also drawing attention to the wonderful work of the NBCF and raising as much money and awareness as we can. We hope to let her know that she is not alone and that she has a village of supporters behind her.
We love you Mum and hope we are doing you proud through the GO PINK journey :)

Day 6!

Tuesday 6th Jun
Go Pink day 6, only a few more days until I finish my current role! Which means I only have 4 more days to wear my pink work clothes as part of the campaign!
Here is today’s outfit.

Day 5!

Monday 5th Jun
Day 5 at home - rocking my GO PINK tracksuit while Jess wears her awesome socks!

Day 3

Saturday 3rd Jun
Go Pink day 3, home style! Jessica is a pink care bear and I’m in pink clothes :)

Day 2 GO PINK!

Friday 2nd Jun

Today marked day 2 of the ‘GO PINK’ fundraising campaign. I opted in to wearing crazy socks with my pink top, jacket and boots - a very daring decision that I did a lot of overthinking about as to whether or not it was suitable for work. As I ummed and ahhed over the topic, I reminded myself why I am doing this and what the purpose is - to raise awareness and support my Mum while she goes through her own breast cancer journey.

Little did I know what a conversation starter a pair of socks would turn into! I spent the day speaking with my colleagues, who would either comment on my socks and say how cool they looked, or would give me an opportunity to explain the purpose when they looked confused as to why I was wearing them. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to spread awareness about breast cancer and how prevalent the disease is, with 57 people being diagnosed each day.

I learnt a lesson today through my crazy pink socks - be brave enough to dare to be different and make a statement, especially when it is for a good cause. You never know what opportunities it might open you up to, or the types of meaningful conversations you could have!

Day 1!

Thursday 1st Jun
I loved wearing pink from head to toe to work today for day 1 of GO PINK!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, I look forward to hearing your suggestions for funny pink items I can wear throughout June! :)

My Why

Thursday 1st Jun
Happy 1 June - GO PINK month!
I thought I would take the time to write a quick post about why the Green girls have chosen to go pink for June.
Our beautiful Mum Lisa has recently been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. With this comes the challenges of lymph node removal, surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and hormone therapy, as well as losing your hair, feeling unwell and the roller coaster of emotions that comes along with having cancer.
This has certainly been a challenge for our family unit, so Jessica and I have decided that we want to make a difference, whilst brightening Mum’s days and letting her know she isn’t facing this alone. For the next 30 days, we will be wearing pink clothing, accessories, tutus, feather boas, crazy socks, funny glasses and hair items - all for this very important cause. We are hoping to shower our pages with pink, whilst raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
We have been overwhelmed so far by the love, support and generosity that has been given to us in such a short period of time.
If you have taken the time to stop by my blog and read this, thank you so much. Your support is very much appreciated and we are so thankful to every single person who has supported us and our beautiful Mum.
We hope to do her proud during June and raise as much money and awareness as possible in our pink gear. I promise to post as many photos as we can, so that you can enjoy the pink journey with us :)
I can’t wait to share our GO PINK journey with you!
Love from Cassie xx
