HELLO YES I’M BACK FOR ANOTHER CHALLENGE! Please support me to step up to breast cancer this August!

Right now, 57 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer every day.

This August, I am taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer for the mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loves ones who are impacted by this devastating disease.

I am doing this to raise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support vital breast cancer research to help save lives.

This is my story:

I don’t want to say goodbye to my best friend, my mum, the same way she had to.

My Grandmother found out she had breast cancer when she was 50 years old, she sadly passed away at the young age of 51, I was barely 4 months old at the time. 

She was told by many doctors that the pain she was experiencing was simply a pinched nerve or something similar. She was in pain for 2-4 months but was too scared to tell my mum, worried she would miscarry me as she had had many herself. 

When they finally removed her breasts they discovered they were both riddled with cancer and that it had gotten into her lymph nodes… by the end of that year she had passed away. She knew for 1 year… yet they said she could have had it for up to 10 years all together.

My Nan was 1 of 6 children, 2 boys and 4 girls. Out of the 4 sisters 2 passed away from breast cancer. 50%!

Though I don’t remember her I have a bond that can not be explained.
