I'm now a Pink Hero
My name is Sarah, I'm 37 years old, a wife and a mum to twin boys, and I have metastatic breast cancer.
In Dec 2024, I found a golf ball size lump in my left breast when I was in the shower. After a mammogram and biopsy, it was confirmed mid-January this year - breast cancer.
Fast forward CT scans, blood tests, bone scans, and many more appts, it was found the cancer had already spread to my lymph nodes and my spine.
My official diagnosis is called "Oligometastatic Triple positive breast cancer, Single L4 metastasis.
Currently I've had 4 cycles of chemo with 2 more to go. Each cycle every 3 weeks. This chemo has put me into a chemical menopause, it has caused so many (sometimes random) symptoms that has rocked me especially in the first week.
I am blessed to have been able to work from home and even more overwhelmed with the generosity of our friends and family! From the "Meal Train" discrete dinner deliveries and coffee runs, offers of assistance to each msg or phone call checking in. Everyone has been amazing!!
